This dormouse comes along with other every night to eat the nuts in our garden: we hear them come because they emit squeaks as they approach jumping from one branch to another. Last night we were able to photografe one, which did not look frightened: it watching us from above, gnawing the nut and once eaten, threw the shell on the ground. It seems that they are curious animals. They have a long bushy tail, fur gray / brown on the back and white on the belly, small pink ears, big eyes and prehensile legs with which to climb trees, jump from branch to branch and grab the nuts.

Thank you Lauren, I wondered if it was a female or a male: you helped me to resolve my doubt!
Hi Valentin, I was just assuming it was a nursing mother because in pictures 3, 4, 5 and 6 she has a somewhat enlarged mammary gland. Hope she has babies waiting in the nest.
Thank you LaurenZarate! Forgive the stupid question, but how can you tell that it's a female?
Wonderful pictures and so very cute. It seems to be a mama....
Thank to all! They're really welcome visitors!
What a cute little fellow. An excellent spotting, valentinezza. I'm glad to hear they're a protected species.
I love them! I raised 4 babies, few years ago...Fortunately they are strictly protected in Greece :D
So adorable!
They're so cute, but they must be very careful and keep the right distance from our cats...
Pretty visitors! :-)
