Mew Gull

Larus canus

Description:

White-breasted gull, ~ 1 foot head to tail, with gray back and wings and black tail feathers.

Habitat:

Sub-arctic montane ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted in the parking area off of Park Road at mile 15, Savage River crossing, Denali National Park. This "seagull" was a long was from the sea. After a close look at the image, I wonder if it took a "redeye" flight from the coast!
