Chilean flamingo

phoenicopterus chilensis

Description:

This flock of chilean flamingoes was calmly eating in salty water coming from the ocean near the city of Punta del Este. It seems to be common to see them during this time of the year. Their color varies according to their diet.

Habitat:

The chilean flamingoes can be found around South America.

Notes:

It is amazing the amount of new building that they have built and are builiding in this area; hopefully flamingo populations will not be affected...
