Japanese beetle

Popillia japonica


Copper & green in colour, and was about 10 mm in size.


While native to Japan, this beetle is actually a destructive pest in North America, including Ontario and northern US. It is actually being controlled in this part of the world.


They eat the leaves of plants, but not the fruit; thrive in hot, sunny weather.
