Very nice Erik5, and a belated welcome to Project Noah. Since you know the identity of your organism (from your use of its common name, arrow-headed garter snake), please go ahead and fill in the scientific name field. In this case the scientific name is Thamnophis rufipunctatus. Here's a link http://www.fws.gov/southwest/es/arizona/... In terms of the Project Noah database, adding the scientific name will make your spotting a complete record, and allow groups and individuals to find your spotting, and use the data it provides. It will also take your spotting off the "unidentified" list. If you are interested in learning how species are named and why this is important, see Project Noah's blog entry http://blog.projectnoah.org/post/2870249... Thanks! We look forward to more spottings from you!
