False Solomon's Seal

Maianthemum racemosum

Description:

False Solomon's Seal is a woodland herbaceous perennial plant growing to 50–90 cm tall, with alternate, oblong-lanceolate leaves. Develops berries that turn red in late summer/early Fall.

Habitat:

Found on both coasts in North America up to elevations of 7,000 ft. Most commonly found in partial shade and deep, moist, soft soils. This particular specimen was found trailside in the eastern portion of Glacier National Park.
