Crested Serpent Eagle is a medium sized bird of prey. It has a widespread distribution and there are many recognized sub-species. As the name goes, it is a specialist reptile eater, often hunts snakes and lizards.
Found in forested habitats.
I photographed this eagle one cold winter morning. It sat absolutely still, not bothered about a jeep parked so close. Suddenly, it began to ruffle and shake all its feathers and it was a treat to watch the eagle do that :)
