Eucalyptus stem gall-wasp gall

Selitrichodes sp

Description:

Two finger-like 55mm long, firm brown galls with numerous minute holes all around and along the length of the galls. The galls were otherwise complete with no openings. Some of the leaves showed dark hard blister-like galls.

Habitat:

Spotted on a Eucalyptus tree -possibly Red Gum

Notes:

The holes on the galls were different sizes and looked like they were made by ? parasitic wasps. My thanks to Ken Walker for the ID. He says "Many of these galls are caused by Eulophidae parasitic wasps. They form the most oddest of shapes".

I agree it looks like a parasitic wasp quite that is comprehensively distorting the stem.
The leaf features look similar to the volcano gall.
