Helmet Treehoppers are a widespread on SouthAmerica, though they're not so common to spot. This species are actually of a solitary aspect unlike most Treehoppers, which before adulthood stay with their siblings, and after adulthood usually lives surrounded by other Treehoppers.

Thanks, I just delete my last comment after looking for another Membracis. I noticed many non-trustable links there and thought I should re-check yours as well. If you fell comfortable with my suggestion, the better anyway ;-)...

I think yours is not Membracis dorsata, but Membracis foliatafasciata.

In the second picture looks like you may have a different that right? if so, you should separate it into another spotting :-)
