Spicebush Swallowtail Caterpillar

Papilio troilus

Description:

Family: Papilionidae (swallowtails) beginning of 3rd instar. Length: .75 inches (19 mm) Host plant: Spicebush (Lindera) Light green and white with blue and black "eyes" and circles on abdomen.

Habitat:

Found meadow/woodlands edge, but brought back to house area to "raise" and feed host plant each day.

Notes:
