Description:

Very localized butterfly and hard to find. Females lay their eggs in Merxmuellera spp. a type of grass. You need to find the grass in order to find the butterfly, Only flies in March and April. Two subspecies.

Habitat:

Grassy patches in Fynbos/Nama karoo.

Yes, one can confuse them if you see only the upper side, but the undersides are very different.
