Spotting

Description:

Bracket polypores on a log. Younger specimens various shades of pink on top and pink pores. Older specimens clustered together in stacks and covered in what appeared to be muddy decayed material, although the log itself seemed to be quite intact. Largest bracket I saw approx 10-12 cms. Definitely wood rotters, and a species of turkey tails perhaps?

Habitat:

Cumberland State Forest in moist and well shaded area. Here's some info: http://www.forestrycorporation.com.au/vi...

Thank you, Cindy. Much appreciated. I'm fascinated by fungi and all their amazing forms, but they frustrate me no-end when it comes to ID. If I had a dollar for every fungi image I've viewed since joining PN, well... hello retirement!

Congrats on you Fungi patch, Neil :)
