Norway Spruce

Picea Abies

Description:

Needles are short about a 1/2 an inch long. Needles are not very sharp and are born singly. Trunk is light brown in color, but it oozes sap. Small branches droop. Twigs are not hairy.

Habitat:

The Norway Pine was brought across seas by pioneers. The pine in the picture is in a neighbor of my grandmother's yard.

Notes:

This tree is infested by Black Carpenter Ants (Camponotus pennsylvanicus ).
