Description:

Adult males have the head and neck pale gray, and the body is reddish with black spots under the wings. Females are generally dark earthy gray. Its flight is fast and direct, with regular and occasional flapping vigorous and rapid movements of the wings. Usually builds a nest of twigs in thorny trees for protection. They eat seeds and grains.------------------------------ Los machos adultos tienen la cabeza y el cuello gris pálido, y el cuerpo es rojizo con manchas negras debajo de las alas. Las hembras son gris terroso oscuro en general. Su vuelo es rápido y directo, con aleteos regulares y ocasionalmente con movimientos vigorosos y rápidos de las alas. Habitat:

Live from Mexico to as far north as the Argentina and Trinidad and Tobago. Sometimes you can see in the southeastern United States, in South Texas and Southern California, chiefly during the winter. The Tortolita is very common in other areas of stubble and open moorland.----------------------------- Vive desde México al hasta el norte de la Argentina y en Trinidad y Tobago. En ocasiones se puede ver en el sudeste de los Estados Unidos, en el Sur de Tejas y en el Sur de California; principalemente durante el invierno. La Tortolita es muy común en las zonas de rastrojos y otros páramos abiertos.
