Eastern Gartersnake

Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis

Description:

Tan underneath with darker colored back, back has black checker pattern all the way to the tail along with a yellow stripe following down the spine. This particular specimen was approximately 2 1/2 feet long.

Habitat:

Found basking next to railroad.

Notes:

Cheers to my mother for getting me a nice stick to catch this girl. Might I add she had a large lump in her stomach. (Most likely a frog.)

That's a huge one. most that I see are around a foot. This is a big female.
