Sumatran Orangutan

Description:

This is Bonnie, she is a Sumatran orangutan. Orangutan in the native langue of Borneo, means "man of the forest". Orangutans are only found in the wild, in Borneo and Sumatra. It is believe that in the next 15 to 20 years we will lose them in the wild. This is do to natives cutting down the natural land to grow a crash crop called palm oil.

Habitat:

Bonnie live in Zoo Miami, Florida, with her mate Mango and two white cheeked Gibbons, Millie and Henry.
