A quite big (3.5-4.5 cm) and compact wasp that flied erratically,
No problem :) I actually enjoy cleaning up the unidentified section (or at least try to xD) of the missions.

Looks like a sand-wasp Bembix sp. problem is there are 9 species in Portugal (if im not mistaken) but with the spotting pictures and location being near Faro I'd say it's probably Bembix oculata http://naturdata.com/Bembix-oculata-2466...
