Northern Water Snake

Nerodia Sipedon

Description:

Baby snakes with dark grey blotches with lighter-grey stripes. Each one was in between 8-10 inches.

Habitat:

First one was found under a board I purposely put there to attract snakes. Then two more were found under a small rock right near the boards. Another was found near the other rock about 5 feet away, and then the final one was found under a large rock on the opposite side of were the two were found together.

Notes:

First one got away, but the other four were caught. Luckily for me, there was a bunch of empty coffee cups lying around that I used to hold each snake as I caught more. Nerodia Sipedon is ovoviviparous, which leads me to believe they're all brothers and sisters considering how they were all found near each other and look about the same age. (First picture is snake #1, second picture is snake #2, and third and fourth picture is snake #3. I didn't get many 'great' photos but that's okay.)
