Very tiny ant species; for reference, they are on a macaroni noodle. Dark cherry red.
Backyard in a neighborhood backing up to wooded areas with lots of tall trees.
I got a couple on me and they didn't bite so I'd wager they can't.

Red ants...stay away from them they hurt
