Helianthus maximiliani
Pleasant, showy flower. Each petal has two fine lines that run down its length.
Atlantic coastal area. From Wikipedia: “...native to the Great Plains in central North America, and naturalized in the eastern and western parts of the continent.”
ID confirmation needed, as this may instead be a swamp sunflower, H. angustifolius. It is too small to be a common sunflower.
