Crown Raspberry Borer

Pennisetia marginata

Description:

This clearwing moth feeds on raspberry plants, blackberry, loganberry and other cane fruits. This one was spotted in a little overgrown patch in my suburban yard of wineberry (a japanese raspberry) and japanese knotweed (the leaf it is resting on in the pictures)
