Welcome Swallow

Hirundo neoxena

Description:

A small bird with bluish grey back and head, rust-coloured throat and whitish belly. Tail was forked with white patches on tail feathers

Habitat:

Spotted flying around over a lake. Widespread in Australia and are more common in the southern parts.

Notes:

Feed on a wide variety of insects which they catch during flight. They were like little acrobats in air and difficult to photograph (with my pocket camera, anyway !)
