Funnel Weaver Spider

Tegenaria domestica

Description:

I watched this funnel weaver spider spring out of his hole extremely fast and pounce on a cricket. It bit the crickets leg and held it for about 10 seconds, then drug it into its funnel. It took about 30 seconds total for the spider to attack and haul the cricket back into the hole.

Habitat:

On the side of a suburban house in the corner outside between vinyl siding slabs.
