As Chaenorrhinum mentioned, this belongs in the Arthropods category. I have moved it for you. Also, it's a crane fly, which is in the family Tipulidae. It does not eat mosquitoes, and most crane flies do not feed at all as adults. :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crane_fly
