Description:

Large black dragonfly with yellow stripes on the thorax and along the top of the abdomen. Yellow face with blue teardrop shaped eyes. Males patrol streams and back roads for females. These dragonflies prey on flying insects even other dragonflies.

Habitat:

Shady long streams and creeks and open clearings.
