Jumping spider

Salticidae Psecas genus

Description:

Highly colorful 1.5 cm long spider found in my room in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brasil. Seems poisonous but I would like to learn more about this spider in particular and therefore would be grateful with some ID help =).

Cool spotting, Patty. That's a big jumping spider. Perhaps this will narrow down the search, at least to a genus level. There are four species of native jumping spiders in Brazil (as far as I can tell), and they belong to the Psecas genus. https://biology.stackexchange.com/questi... I hope that helps.
