Alpenbock or Rosalia Longicorn

When I see them, it is almost always n town. Climbing up the wall of a building or down the street: probably seeking warmth in fall. One time we found one on the beach in the tidal zone. We've had a couple nice warm summers, so I expect to see at least one this fall.

In my area they were almost exstinct!! I never thought I can see one in wild and you would not believe where: Next to the dumpster behind the Monasterio in Roncevalles during a heavy rain. My wife was walking as a pilgrim, I was driving as a beetle pilgrim with the car ;-)

We have a similar beetle here. Don't see them often.
