Auricularia auricula-judae
I really am honored that you choose my photo for the facebook page Karen!
Thanks staccyh for the I.D. suggestion
@Viv what is there texture cooked and what kind of dishes are they in?
Interesting fact! Auricularia auricula-judae is commonly known as Judas’s ear fungus, stemming from the belief that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from an elder tree, the fungi’s most common host. This fungus is widely used in Chinese cuisine, and has proven antitumor, hypoglycemic, anticoagulant and cholesterol-lowering properties.
