Mergus merganser
Large diving ducks. These birds look streamlined with their longated bodies, long necks. These are two females, with their grey bodies and reddish colored heads that have a ragged crest and white chin. The bill is narrow and a reddish color with a dark tip. White patches on wings when in flight.
Freshwater Lakes and ponds, but sometimes found in estuaries.
