Slender bedstraw

Galium normanii

Description:

The Slender bedstraw is one of several plants in the genus Galium found in Iceland. These can be differentiated by the number of leafs per whorl around the stem; for Galium normanii there are at least 6, often 8 leaves per whorl.

Habitat:

Gravel plain. At Lónsöræfi, a wilderness area in south-east Iceland. Last shot shows the habitat.

Notes:

A small trailing plant (5-12 cm high) with tiny flowers. In Iceland flowers in June
