Red-orange. Seedpods burst when touched.
The species is native to South America and Central America, but is now a pantropical weed. It grows mostly in shady areas, under trees or shrubs.

Spotted touch me not. Juices from the crushed stem sooth poison ivy or stinging nettle when applied to the skin.
