Tyto alba
Heart shaped face on a large rounded head and small body. A tawney outline of face, head, back and wings. The male has a paler color underneath. Says strickly nocturnal, yet I found this one wide awake and alert in the early morning.
This one prefers to hunt in open fields and marsh. It also prefers roosting in Eucalyptus trees.
This one was disturbed by a Cooper's Hawk.
