Description:

A medium size butterfly with orange to yellow colors with dark brown to black markings.

Habitat:

Spotted on the edge of N. Wenas Road near the Umtanum creek.

Notes:

Found from Washington to Baja California and east to Colorado and western South Dakota. Larva feed on Viola species.
