Humming-bird Hawk-moth

Macroglossum stellatarum

Description:

It was moving quickly between flowers ad the light was not good so I pushed the ISO to 1600 and the last pic was 1/4000 second. In pic 3 the proboscis is curled up between flowers. This is the first time I have knowingly seen one of these, luckily I had the right camera with me. The first 3 pics were ISO 160, 1/100 second, hence the wings cannot be seen.

Habitat:

Garden
