A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Glycaspis brimblecombei
This small winged (adult) 'jumping plant lice' has recently emerged from its sugary lerp (cover). The lerps are commonly seen, and are a useful food source for birds and other arthropods. The winged adults are seldom noticed.
Roadside planted eucalyptus.
Sometimes very prolific and even problematic for park trees and forestry. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/164...

Lori, it seems that in this last week things have come to life.
Nice close-up. We must be awash with them at the moment, because the Yellow-rumped and Tasmanian thornbills are out in force.
