Description:

This small winged (adult) 'jumping plant lice' has recently emerged from its sugary lerp (cover). The lerps are commonly seen, and are a useful food source for birds and other arthropods. The winged adults are seldom noticed.

Habitat:

Roadside planted eucalyptus.

Notes:

Nice close-up. We must be awash with them at the moment, because the Yellow-rumped and Tasmanian thornbills are out in force.
