Please note this is a Slender Green Orb Weaver 'Araneus'.
The wiki reference contained the exact image which I believe is an error. I base my new ID more confidently on this expert reference http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details...

This is a tent spider
Their webs are believed to be precursors of the orb web
