Longicorn Beetle

Phoracantha sp

Description:

A small longicorn beetle about 20 mm in length. Spikey thorax and pitted elytra with distinctive pale "V"-shaped markings. Antennae were the length of the body and held back.

Habitat:

Near eucalytus trees

Notes:

This is one of the smaller longicorns. I am not able to identify the species but it is a eucalypt longicorn and considered a pest as it is a wood borer.
