Blackberry clearwing borer moth

Description:

This wasp mimicking moth has black and yellow bands and closely resembles a yellow-jacket. The blackberry plant that its on is its host plant.

Habitat:

Spotted on a blackberry plant next to a country road with tall fir trees nearby.

Notes:

The larvae feed on blackberry and raspberry plant, which they bore into.
