eastern glass lizard

ophisaurus ventalis

Description:

nearly hit him while skateboarding. i was surprised to see that at his size his tail had never been broken since the tons I've seen have all had their tails growing back this one had never been broken. he had been in the middle of the road (how i find a lot of my reptiles) and soaking up the heat at dusk. before i released him i took a quick photo shoot and let him go in the pile of dead leave off the side of the road where he burrowed into the soil.
