Two-lined Spittlebug

Prosapia bicincta

Description:

Found within the mangals vicinity, the size is about 12 millimeters in length, I haven't notice any individual within the forest, either they stay within the canopy or remain on the shoreline. This specific may NOT be bicinta but a different species altogether.

Habitat:

South east Asia, Philippines, balabac.

Notes:

Identified by Stephen Thorpe.

similar to Prosapia bicincta Kaldari?

No, it isn't even close to Eurymeloides, except in superficial colour pattern. The structure of the head is totally different. I will try to work out what it is ...

Question, could it be a variant of Eurymeloides bicincta?
Although the pattern is similar, the color pattern varies greatly, so I am doubtful about bicinta, I have hard time finding literature locally on Cicadellidae, beside this species may originate from Malaysia as the location where this picture was taken is quite close from there.
