Zonotrichia capensis costaricensis
famous for its diverse vocalizations, which have been intensely studied since the 1970s
cloudforest, 2400m
I spotted this bird near the end of the day, foraging for food on the ground near the HQ of Santuario Otun Quimbaya.
Thanks Leonardo for the ID, Karen for the fun fact and Mona and Ali for the comments.
Interesting fact! Like humans, birds have dialects and members of the same species may have different songs and calls even if they live close to each other. The rufous-collared sparrow, a small passerine bird that can be found in a wide range of habitats throughout central and South America, is famous for its diverse vocalizations, the subject of intensive studies since the 1970s. http://bit.ly/PK1AzO

I suggested an ID, dandoucette. More than 20 subspecies and I venture to say that it is the costaricensis.
