Description:

This is a tired female apple looper with scale loss. Wingspan was about 1.5 cms. Wings had wavy grey and white patterns.

Habitat:

Spotted near a school sports field with gardens.

Notes:

Caterpillar feeds on numerous plant species including Mimosaceae, Rosaceae, Ranunculaceae, Asteraceae and Clusiaceae. This moth has one synonym Scotosia canata Spotting of male: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/382... Family: Geometridae Subfamily: Larentiinae
