Unknown Oak Galls

Description:

Small, brown, round and slightly flat galls with a rough outer ring and a smoother, lighter colored inner dome. Back side of gall (underside of leaf) has a roundish, rough brown bump (see picture 2).

Habitat:

Suburban yard on a Red Oak leaf (I believe).

Notes:

They kind of remind me of tiny round crusty bread loaves. ;-)
