This pair of Osprey have a nest on a broken tree snag very close to the Great Blue Heron colony. There are ponds, marshes, and the river close by for a supply of fish. One adult is perched in the tree close to the nest and the other adult is sitting in the nest with just a touch of its head showing above the rim of the nest.
There was another pair of Osprey with a nest not very far away, just on the other side of the heron colony. So if you include the Bald Eagle nest which is very close, the 30 or so nests in the heron colony and the 2 osprey nests, that is a lot of breeding going on in a small space. Plus the Wood Ducks, Canada Geese, flycatchers, Bullock's Orioles and dozens of other songbirds all nesting or with young in that Reserve. Some land is well used for nature!
