Yea, I had to choose a country with a higher biodiversity than Denmark and if I will have the time I will upload a lot. I guaranteed there a place next to a forest as well so hopefully I will get a lot of caterpillars :)
wow, you're changing countries not only gardens!!!! But I'm sure you will find something nice there too!!! ;) so you will have to upload many, many pictures!
But then I guess it really isn't the best idea in the world to take them (caterpillar and the creature in it) with you...
Yes, unfortunately I'm leaving the best garden and moving to France but it's all for the sake of science and wouldn't be nice to bring organisms from here to France but I guess I could take the infested one, let me think about it :)
I guess they are the favorite hosts of some wasps. Those hairs help for bigger predators and the wasps are too small so they can get in between the hair. But I have 10 days more to follow them so I hope something interesting will happen with them :)
Thank you, it really looks amazing in nature! :)) I almost couldn't take my eyes of it :)
wow! I wonder what species are so keen on these poor caterpillars (probably more tha one?)!!! and those long "protective" hair are not so protective at all!!!
wow looks crazy, great job! Didn't want to spam that spotting anymore so I write you here some news about the grey dagger caterpillar. One of the two caterpillars I have in the garden has also a web under it so i guess it got wasp infestation and looks exactly like yours.
