Great Ash Sphinx

Sphinx chersis

Description:

Color green, tiny orange or brown colored spot on each side of each segment. I see five large segments with a pair of "legs" on each segment, and a tight cluster of a few segments at the head end(maybe five more?), each with a pair of orange/brown structures like tiny legs. There is a horn -like structure at the tail end. It is about 2 inches long. I'm guessing it is the larva of a sphinx moth.

Habitat:

Found in the road. Nearest tree is an oak.
