Black and Yellow Garden Spider

Argiope aurantia


Large orb weaver spiders with distinct black and yellow markings, silver or white head, and black and orange banded legs. Often found in gardens and areas with a lot of thick foliage. They are considered to be harmless to humans and bites are rare, even when provoked.
