Description:

A Chalcosoma beetle a.k.a. Rhinoceros beetle. This is a female, the female are smaller but much more common than the males. Body length exactly 50mm. They are armed with a hard exoskeleton and wings. They are nocturnal. Possibly Chalcosoma moellenkampi

Habitat:

Spotted early in the morning veranda floor of Bombalai Jungle Lodge, Tawau Hills Park, Sabah.
