Caterpillar. Located in Warner Springs, CA on a plateau along a section of the Pacific Crest Trail. There was a field of them munching on the plants on the ground.

Habitat:

Dry; plateau with lowland vegetation.

Notes:

Located in San Diego's backcountry in Warner Springs area on a plateau late September. Prolific on the plateau.
