Macrovipera lebetina lebetina

Description:

Macrovipera lebetina is a venomous viper species found in North Africa, much of the Middle East, and as far east as Kashmir. Five subspecies are currently recognized, along with the Cypriot endemic subspecies Macrovipera lebetina lebetina. The pictured remains of a snake of the species, were spotted and photographed in Olympus mountain, Cyprus.
